Setting up a meditation space


It is really important that the space set aside for meditation is designed to maximise its suitability to support the meditation process. Remember that an outside location can be a valuable location for meditation.

o   It will need to be clear of obstacles with a minimal amount of furniture. 

o   Maximise effectiveness of the meditation through the use of comfortable furniture. 

o   Select a room in the house that quiet and free from distractions and people walking through.

o   Set up a suitable low level or adjustable amount of lighting.

o   Temperature of the room should be comfortable and adjustable for the time of year.

o   Candles positioned in a safe location away from children and where they aren’t likely to be knocked over.

o   Organise the decor with suitable colours not too intense.

o   Soft and suitable meditative music.

o   Organise the room to smell with a suitable oil, scented candles or incense.

o   Appropriate technology should be present to ensure music, bells, and recordings if required are possible.

o   Computer may be required to initiate the streaming of the meditation.
